Description

Ground rings are installed on both sides between the flow transmitter and the pipe flange. The rings are necessary if the flow transmitter is installed on an insulating pipe (e.g. plastic pipe) so that the medium in the pipe and the short-circuit to ground have zero potential. This is necessary for correct operation of the electromagnetic flow transmitter. Grounding rings are made of 316L stainless steel. If a single ground ring is used, it is installed on either side of the flow sensor. The inside diameter of the pipe channel is smaller than the inside diameter of the ground ring. If the flow sensor pipe channel is rubber lined, it is sufficient to install a gasket between the ring and the pipe flange.
